resorts for age 50-60 wedding anniversary

Hi All- I;m new to this site and have not traveled much outside the US. I'd like suggestions for an anniversary trip (our 30th.) I'm looking for a a place that is elegant and relaxing with mostly adults in the 40-60 age range for early Sept 2017. Some younger folks are fine and even a few kids. Just not all night parties or heavily geared toward much older folks. I'd prefer travel that is not too rigorous in terms of getting there from the Washington DC area.I like natural beauty and leisurely activities: Light hiking, sail and kayak, sailing tours etc. Love meeting new people but not looking for the closeness of a B&B or tiny exclusive resort. Good food and bar and service. Rooms with a nice view of the water. I posted this in The Carribean section but Mexico might be nice. Budget is 500-750 a night for perhaps 5 or 6 nights. And I'd like cell phone service and internet. I'm just learning so any suggestions are welcome. We have cruised the eastern Caribbean and were ashore at St Thomas and St Croix and have been to Hawaii twice but it's been over a decade since travelling anywhere. We'd rather not go as far as Hawaii.
